My Spiritual Life
Identifying as a Christian has set the foundation for who I am as a person. It has influenced where I went to school, who my friends are, the social activities that I am involved in, how I carry myself as a person, and it has created the desire of being a sociologist that serves others.
My testimony (shown in the slides below for a project for my Spanish class) affectedly started when I was six years old and father suddenly passed away from a brain aneurism. The aspect of an everlasting & eternal father in Christianity appealed to the human father void I had in my life. Because of the passing of my dad, my mother worked extra hours to simply maintain the bills. In her moments of absence, she hired a nanny to take care of me and my sisters. Fortunately, Josefina was the one of the best people who ever entered into my life because she was able to give me the gift of bilingualism. Having the ability to speak Spanish empowered me to go on mission trips and participate in intercultural exchanges in Latin America. Those experiences set the foundation of wanting to be a social worker in the future.
